The National Television Board is a Board established by The Television Act to ensure the proper administration of the Act. The purpose of the Television Act is to regulate licences for television broadcast services and for controlling the standard of programmes broadcasted by television services as well as any other purpose connected to the Act or television services and broadcasting. The Board works with the Ministry of Communication and Aviation’s (MCA) Information Communication Technology Services Division on matters of broadcasting policy and on standards of programmes for television broadcasts.

Members of the Board are appointed by the Minister responsible for broadcasting and usually serve a term of two (2) years.
