There are risks with some types of aerosol exploding or catching fire harming people and property.  It is not safe to take them on the plane - they are "restricted from carriage".

The Ministry of Communication and Aviations  Aviation Security Services Division x-rays bags going on planes to make sure there is nothing dangerous in them.  If something comes up on the x-ray that needs checking, the bag will be opened and searched.

Are there differences between taking aerosols on domestic or international flights?

The rules that apply to aerosols differ between domestic and international travel and whether the content is flammable or non-flammable - it is important for travelers to know the difference.

Types of Aerosols Hazard Label
Flammable - the contents of (gas or liquid) of this type of aerosol are highly "flammable" when exposed to heat, flames or sparks. These aerosols will have a hazard label (with flame) placed on their containers.

Non-Flammable - the contents of (gas or liquid) of this type of aerosol arenot flammable nor are they poisonous. These aerosols will have a green hazard lable place on their containers.

The following restrictions apply to aerosols on both domestic and international flights
