The Solomon Islands Government is implementing the Second Solomon Islands Roads and Aviation Project (SIRAP2), supported by the World Bank. SIRAP2 is the continuation of the Solomon Islands Roads and Aviation Project (SIRAP), with the aim to improve the climate resilience and safety of the Solomon Islands’ road and aviation sectors, and in the event of an Eligible Crisis or Emergency, respond promptly and effectively to it. Further, on March 3, 2025, an Additional Financing (AF) for SIRAP2 became effective for scale-up investments and cost overruns for existing activities. Investments under the combined SIRAP2 and the AF fall under four components:
Component 1: Climate Resilience and Safety Investments in the Aviation Sector
Component 2: Climate Resilience and Safety Investments in the Road Sector
Component 3: Institutional Strengthening and Project Management
Component 4: Contingent Emergency Response
