Technological upgrades complemented with technical expertise remain a core aspect of the aviation industry, resulting in the delivery of a safe and sustainable aviation service.

This outcome is realised through regular development and maintenance of aviation related equipment and through the modernisation of systems according to international standards and procedures.

The Technical Service Division within the Ministry of Communication and Aviation (MCA) plays a key support role to the other technical Divisions of the MCA in accordance with international codes and standards.

The functions of the Division are provisioned under Annex 10 of the Convention on International Aviation (Chicago Convention) which identifies aeronautical communications, navigation and surveillance as the most complex and essential elements of international civil aviation.

In this context, the Division’s core mandate is the maintenance of all electronic systems, including navigational and communications equipment as well as security equipment essential for the safe operations of the entire civil aviation operation.
