The construction phase of the Honiara International Airport expansion project is employing one hundred local workers alongside forty overseas supervisors.
The local workers will further benefit from skills and knowledge transfer from the ongoing collaboration with expat workers during and after the project, which will be a bonus for the country.
The Ministry of Communication and Aviation as part of its National ICT Week from the 17th to 18th May, facilitated a public forum aimed at raising awareness on the dark side of cyberspace.
The open forum was themed “The Growing ‘Dark Side of Cyberspace’ and What to do About It”.
The Governments of Solomon Islands and New Zealand have advanced plans to invest further in provincial airport upgrades after the completion of the Munda International Airport at the end of this year, in line with the Democratic Coalition for Change Government’s (DCCG’s) Reprioritisation Policy 184.108.40.206(g).
The Ministry of Communication & Aviation with Solomon Islands Postal Corporation together with combined initiative launches the new Solomon Islands Address System. The new system will provide solution for the long-standing challenge from “no address to new address system” and will continue to deliver new and technology-based addresses envisioned to cover the entire nation.
