Permanent Secretary Moses Virivolomo delivered his speech during the Retirees farewell function on 27th May 2021 at the Honiara International Airport.

Mr. Moses Virivolomo acknowledge and congratulate five retired officers being serving the government a total 98 years with dedication and positive contributions to the ministry.

The construction phase of the Honiara International Airport expansion project is employing one hundred local workers alongside forty overseas supervisors.

The local workers will further benefit from skills and knowledge transfer from the ongoing collaboration with expat workers during and after the project, which will be a bonus for the country.

The Governments of Solomon Islands and New Zealand have advanced plans to invest further in provincial airport upgrades after the completion of the Munda International Airport at the end of this year, in line with the Democratic Coalition for Change Government’s (DCCG’s) Reprioritisation Policy 4.2.2.5(g).

The Ministry of Communication & Aviation with Solomon Islands Postal Corporation together with combined initiative launches the new Solomon Islands Address System. The new system will provide solution for the long-standing challenge from “no address to new address system” and will continue to deliver new and technology-based addresses envisioned to cover the entire nation.
