THE upgrade of the country’s main international airport will make Henderson Airport a key regional hub and one of the best in the region.

China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) has won the publicly advertised bid for the Design and Building of Munda International Airport Terminal Building in the Western Province. These terminal building works will significantly contribute to the government aspirations to improve and upgrade airport infrastructure as stated in the DCGA Policy 5.2.1.4 a) and e). This policy falls under the scope of the Ministry of Communication & Aviation (MCA).

On Thursday, 12^th November, 2020, Cabinet deliberated on the Cabinet paper to temporarily suspend the access to Facebook.

Since then, there has been a lot of commentary and publication in Facebook on the decision of Cabinet to suspend access to Facebook. As a starting point the Constitution of the Solomon Islands, which governs all our laws, provides that each and every person in Solomon Islands shall be provided with the security of person and protection of the law, freedom of conscience and freedom of speech, amongst other fundamental rights and freedoms.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Solomon Islands has lost its Office Building on the early morning of 7 July 2020 from a fire. 

All CAASI telephone lines 36563, 36567, 36253 have now been restored.
