China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) has won the publicly advertised bid for the Design and Building of Munda International Airport Terminal Building in the Western Province. These terminal building works will significantly contribute to the government aspirations to improve and upgrade airport infrastructure as stated in the DCGA Policy 5.2.1.4 a) and e). This policy falls under the scope of the Ministry of Communication & Aviation (MCA).
On Thursday, 12th November, 2020, Cabinet deliberated on the Cabinet paper to temporarily suspend the access to Facebook.
Since then, there has been a lot of commentary and publication in Facebook on the decision of Cabinet to suspend access to Facebook. As a starting point the Constitution of the Solomon Islands, which governs all our laws, provides that each and every person in Solomon Islands shall be provided with the security of person and protection of the law, freedom of conscience and freedom of speech, amongst other fundamental rights and freedoms.

A major contract agreement between the Solomon Islands Government and Kitano Construction Corporation (KITANO) of Japan was signed in Tokyo on Friday 16th November 2019 to begin construction work on the Project for the Improvement of Honiara Airport.
THE Solomon Islands Government has signed historical air service agreements with the Governments of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Turkey, the Prime Minister’s Office said.
